Democracy reasserted
The March 8 general election made it clear that Malaysians have unequivocally articulated their rights through the democratic process. In today's world where democracy has teetered, this is heartwarming news. We feel privileged to have witnessed this at first hand and to observe the re-drawing of the political landscape in Malaysia.

Farhad's business breaks new ground
Farhad's Cultureyard International has had some notable successes lately, as in recent sellout shows by Groundation and other name reggae bands at Seattle's Nectar club as well as at Neumos, Portland (OR) and other venues in the US northwest. The addition of a 12-seater bus and a Mazda sedan to Farhad's inventory has opened up new opportunities for providing quality services to visiting reggae, r&b and jazz groups. Besides his regular shows in Seattle and Portland (Oregon), Farhad recently held his annual Bob Marley Festival in these cities. Other exciting news is the recent sellout show by "Cool Ruler" Gregory Isaacs at Neumos, Mad Professor and The Everyday Prophets at Nectar, and an Easter Special appearance by Sister Carol at Neumos. Says Farhad: "My productions continue to get better and this year will mark new turfs. I'm excited!"

Michel Update
Michel has composed music for the ashram scenes in Sony/Columbia Pictures' latest release Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts. August 13'th, when the film was released worldwide, was an important marker in Michel and Rosa's careers. Other film and television assignments for both Michel and Rosa keep coming in.

Michel has begun composing the music for a feature documentary about the urban farming movement in Detroit.

A Good Day to Die, the documentary on the legendary Native American leader Dennis Banks, for which Michel produced the music, had its world premier in June.

Meanwhile, to meet the industry's growing demand for outstanding music composition and production, Michel is using every spare moment to complete the construction of a new recording studio in North Hollywood.

Farhad Update
Characteristically, Farhad has been really busy this season! His recent events at Seattle's Nectar Lounge showcased US-based reggae bands Mystic Roots and Rise-n Shine, as well as his own Unite-One group in which he plays bass. He presented the legendary Third World group on the 5'th and 6th of August, showing his progression towards the musical big time. His Culture Yard Band will be performing at Seattle's humongous Hempfest 21-22 August.
The demand for Tall Grass Bakery's specialty breads is booming and Farhad has been clocking record sales in the farmers' markets around Seattle.
Adil Update
Adil is designer for the website and all publicity material for the film A Good Day to Die. Now based in Vancouver, BC, he is fully engaged in industrial CAD work as well as designing commercial websites.
Azura Update
Azura just graduated 4'th grade brilliantly! At year end, she had the lead part as King Leontes of the made up country of Sicilia in The Winters Tale by William Shakespeare. And now she's started a signature campaign against Seattle's plan to replace the rides at the Seattle Center with a glass museum... :) ;) :( :-) ;-) :-( Smiley/winking/frowning w/ noses faces by Azura HERSELF!!!! :O
