Memories to Keep – Somalia
Hootoksi Tyabji, Mogadishu, 1987
I wrote this book of poems for Somali children to highlight and illustrate the traditional nomadic way of life in their country. I also wanted it to be a memory for our children and perhaps for theirs, too.
The US embassy bought 500 copies of the book to put into their Welcome Kit for new families being posted to the country.
