Sujaya Misra visit, 22 - 25 May 2011
Shah Alam, May 2011
Hootoksi and Sujaya have been friends and classmates since Hootoksi was eight. Among the guests at one of our parties in New Delhi were Sujaya and a colleague of mine at UNICEF, Peter Godwin. That chance encounter was enough for them to embark on a long journey together - they later married, moved to various countries, had two children, moved to more countries, and are now living in New Delhi.
Sujaya was on her way to Perth and decided to drop by to see us in Malaysia so we had her to ourselves for a couple of days. It's been six years since she, Peter and their daughter Deviyani visited us in Malaysia.
Peter, like me had a passion for motorcycles, travel and doing offbeat stuff so we had had a jolly time together in Delhi. I introduced him to Kaka, the motorcycle surgeon and younger brother of Nata, my assistant and mechanical whiz, and Kaka lost no time in rebuilding a BSA bike for Peter. Then, in October 1978 the Indian Army opened the mountain passes to Ladakh to the public and I convinced Pater to accompany me to Leh on our bikes - read about it HERE.
So, Peter, here's an invitation you might not find easy to resist - come over for a couple of weeks for fondue feasts and biking around Sabah!
