Our fervent wished have been answered! Today's momentous news from America had us whooping and our families celebrating what seems to be the dawning of a new era. Barack Obama won the election yesterday!

We also join our close friend Waheed Hassan in the Maldives as he and his party celebrate their triumph in trouncing President Gayoon's repressive government in the first free democratic presidential election ever held in the country. The newly elected government of President Mohamed "Anni" Nasheed and Vice-President Dr. Mohammed Waheed Hassan will be inaugurated on 11 November 2008 in Male.
