Sinia Dugal visit, 11 - 26 April 2011
Hootoksi Tyabji, Shah Alam, April 2011
Sinia and I met in theater in New Delhi in 1977. We both belonged to Yatrik, an Amateur Theater Company and were rehearsing Chekov’s Cherry Orchard and having a blast both on and off stage. That is where our friendship began and it has endured all these years bringing us continued comfort and love.
Our family left Delhi in 1979 and we began moving around the world with UNICEF often being posted to countries where communications were difficult. Sinia visited us in Bhutan, Yemen, Tanzania and Nepal and became Aunty Sinia to our children and Godmother to Adil.
Through the years we have shared in each other\'s lives reveling in the good times and being there for each other through the difficult ones. We have evolved in different ways and the bond we continue to share is a special and cherished one.
It has been a joy to have Sinia in Malaysia with us in our home in Shah Alam. We have had a packed two weeks leaving for Penang on the day Sin arrived, then to Kuala Kangsar, Melacca and Cambodia where we visited the glorious temples of Angkor Wat, something we had promised each other we would do a few years ago.
Sinia leaves for New Delhi today, and fingers crossed she will not have to pay for excess baggage!
With AirAsia offering terrific fares to India we hope to see a lot more of each other in the coming years!
