Farhad preferred to spend his entire stay with us at home and around KL, and use the time to relax and meet our friends. His last visit was six years ago. Apart from social gatherings and occasional trips to KL he was happy to unwind from his usual hectic lifestyle in Seattle, and enjoy the home-cooked meals and exotic restaurant fare.

Farhad delighted us by expressing his interest in meeting some of our friends in and around Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur. He is naturally comfortable with the older folks too!

A trip to the Chin Swee Temple at Genting Highlands gave him a glimpse of one of Malaysia's cultural happenings around Chinese New Year. 

Particularly fascinating at Chin Swee Temple was the hillside tour of the Journey to Enlightenment with its gruesome statuary depicting the hells that selectively await those who have sinned before they can reach the ultimate goal of attaining enlightenment in heaven.  

For us, Farhad's visit was a special treat and we wish he could have stayed longer. But of course good things always come to an end! And so, the 31'st dawned and Farhad was at the airport to catch the 2 am Malaysia Airlines flight to Doha. He had to hang around until the aircraft finally took off some 5 hours later, and arrived in Doha only to find he'd missed his Qatar Airways connection to Seattle. He was finally airborne again nearly 24 hours later.
